How To Treat Bed Bugs? Bed bugs treatment begins with cleaning the places wherever you find bed bugs. This includes the following: Clean Bedding, use a hard brush, clean frequently, cover the mattress and similar items, renovate cracks, and throw out clutters. To treat bedbugs infestation you will have to do the following things:
1. Clean Bedding:
Use boiling water to clean your bedding, linens, curtains, and clothing and dry them at the setting of maximum temperature. Items like shoes, bags, and similar staff can’t be washed. So, put them in the dryer and run them at a high temperature for at least 30 minutes. Stuffed animals are risky to run in the dryer. So, keep them in the bright and hot sun for a few hours.
2. Remove bed bugs & their eggs:
Before washing the mattress, remove bed bugs and their eggs from mattress seams with a hard brush. Clean bed bugs infested areas frequently with a vacuum cleaner. Immediately after cleaning, leave the vacuum bag in a plastic bag and seal it or tie it tightly and throw it in the garbage can outdoors.
3. Cover mattress:
To prevent bed bugs from entering your home and escaping, use an airtight cover for the mattress and box spring. Since Bed bugs may live up to one year without any food, keep the mattress & box spring inside the cover for at least one to ensure killing all bed bugs prevent their reproduction.
4. Renovate cracks and throw out the clutter:
Renovate all the cracks and crevices with plaster where bed bugs may hide. Throw out all the clutter from the bed. If the mattress is infested then buy a new one. But before bringing the new one you must clean all the areas to ensure bed bugs free. Otherwise, the new mattress will be infested.
